Guys we are still inside!
After the underwhelming first season, I was pretty surprised to hear that CBS renewed Under the Dome for another season. But I guess anything goes with them.
The premiere opens after the cliffhanger following Dale ‘Barbie’ Barbara who is minutes away from being hang by Big Jim for the false murder he did not commit. At the same moment, the mysterious dome creates noise that send half of the town’s residents to pass out resulted from magnetic waves.
On the other side of town, Julia meets Sam (played by Eddie Cahill from CSI), the loner in the woods and save a mysterious teenage girl who comes out of no where. The two rescued the brunette only to lose her the next. Shocking? I think not.
However, the dome is still highly magnetized and that means danger for the Chesters Mill’s town folks. Linda, the tough female police chief, got thumped by a car and killed in attempt to save Barbie. The younger casts (Angie, Junior, Norrie and Joe) rescues Norrie’s mother while her house being destroyed by the crazily strong magnetic current.
At the end, Big Jim is still alives and the magnetic current calms down after the little experiment conducted by the town’s science teacher, Rebecca (played by Misfits’ Karla Crome). Although, Julia believes it was her decision of not killing Big Jim that stopped the dome’s magnetic pulse. Well, all in good time Julia.
The premiere ends with Angie (played by the high-pitch voice Britt Robertson) getting bloody butchered by an anonymous murderer with an axe… which is not entirely shocking, it’s obvious the writers are cleaning their closets.
I am sure I am saying this on behalf of everyone, but no body is expecting an overwhelming premiere from CBS’ Under the Dome; yes even though Mr Stephen King himself wrote the script. However, once in a while TV viewers expect to see a B-movie template on their small screen and if you are one of those, then Under the Dome provided just that.
