Mesh’s List: 11 Most Disappointing Films of 2019

The year has come and go, but the films remained. I hardly can watch every single films released this year (I have TV shows to watch!), but I have sit in a fair share of disappointing films. Now, I won’t called these films absolutely horrible, you might liked it better than I do. However, with certain films come certain expectations and as it happen, these 11 films failed to meet mine.

PS: I don’t rank the films, but the lower it goes, the worst it disappoints.

Men in Black: International

This is not Thor: Ragnarok, but they do have similar actors, though. Perhaps it’s good time to retire the franchise?

The Lion King

Literally watching the same film but with real-looking animals and jungle? I don’t know guys, I was expecting more.

Disney Executive: “Criticize us all you want, but the film grossed over US$ 1 Billion, Mesh. How much do you have in your bank account?”

Me: *Have an existential crisis*

Cute elephants, bad Michael Keaton. Cute Colin Farrell, bad Eva Green. Do you see the pattern?

The Hustle

This film doesn’t help Mrs Hathaway this year. And, why does she kept on playing con artist?

Talk about disappointment not knowing you have a doppelganger inside the city’s tunnel. And, ooh, they come out at night to stalk you.

I don’t always watch Bollywood films, but when I do, I picked the worst one. Gorgeous setting though, wish there were no actors in it.

It Chapter Two

Two hours of not being able to kill Penny Wise. Even the gorgeous adult actors couldn’t help the horrendous script to stay afloat (get it?). Also, poor Richie didn’t have a chance to come out in the end.

Dark Phoenix

You killed Mystique off to bring in Jessica Chastain as a weird alien? Have you heard of Brotherhood of Mutants?

Charlie’s Angels

I’m sorry Elizabeth Banks, but… yeah, NO. Also if you’re curious why the film flopped, read my reasons here.

Not a great year for James McAvoy either. Despite his splendid performance, Glass lacks… Suspense? Thrill? Mystery?

Maleficent: Mistress of Evil

Writer: “How about we make Angelina Jolie and Michelle Pfeiffer fight each other?”

Disney Executives: “Would it make us tons of money?”

Writer: “We predict, it will make half a billion dollar.”

Disney Executives: “We are in. Market it as a feminist film, shall we?”

Meanwhile, here are the movies that aren’t so bad, but worth to mention:

Knives Out

Star Wars Return of Skywalker

Last Christmas

How To Train Your Dragon 3

Avengers: End Game

Pet Semetary

Child’s Play

Where’d You Go, Bernadette

Frozen II

Yes, I know, I know. But, I haven’t seen Cats, Hellboy, Serenity or other disappointing films this year. And why should I?

Reblogged this on Thar She Blows! and commented:
I haven’t seen any of the flicks in Mesh’s Disappointment list. Always had a bad feeling about them. And now I know I did good taking a rain check. And after reading this reblog you’ll know why you, too, better avoid these moovies.
Although Angelina and Michelle fighting each other sounds yummy. Had theymade the flick 20, 25 years ago and used a mud bath and made them fighting dirty all the time I’d soooo watched it. But not like this, no fairytales in my wrestling arena!

Thank you for the reblog and Michelle/Angelina idea sounds good, would surpass Original Sin, I bet, if it was made! Also, can we add some hunks there too 😉
